At Cawarral State School, we utilise a very particular and selective range of teaching strategies (also known as pedagogical practices). Each of our school's KEY pedagogies, are evidence-based, meaning that these particular strategies have been strongly researched, implemented by classroom practitioners and they effectively and directly, meet the needs of our learners. All of this happens, with continued professional learning and refining of practice.
Teaching and learning at Cawarral is a methodical approach, whereby our teachers engage in such practices with the use of high quality resources.
As we are aware of which evidence based approaches are most effective, we appropriately respond to the needs of our learners and produce excellent results and rates of improvement. This direct response is the cornerstone to our continued success.
Some of our signature approaches include: Explicit Instruction (Flemming model), John Munro based literacy procedures, open-ended maths investigations, daily rapid recall routines and Bloom's Higher Order Thinking Strategies.
